Don’t get caught with your pants down! Learn how to hack procrastination today.

Get free tips and tricks to get out of your head and get on with getting on.

I have restarted this post about 6 times now.  I think that’s a clear sign that I need to take a break for this week (and stop procrastinating on writing my posts until the last minute).  Take a look at this comic from The Oatmeal in case you’re questioning this decision.  Trust me, you don’t want to know what’s going on inside my head this week.

Instead of a post, I’d really love it if you comment below with your answer to these two questions.

1. What is the one thing you have been procrastinating about that would make your life so much easier if you just finished?

2. Why are you putting it off?

If you leave an answer, I promise to comment back with at least one tip for hacking procrastination.  Do it.  You know you want to.

  • Marketing. I KNOW I need to send 20 emails each day. I’ve accomplished this exactly ONCE – and that was almost a month ago. UGH!

    • Hey Monique, 20 emails sounds like a lot! If you find yourself procrastinating, why not try starting with sending just 1 email? That’s a lot easier than 20… and chances are good that if you do one, you’ll do at least a couple more.

Even if you send just the one, that’s still more than you’re sending now. You already have a template ready so it should be a fairly easy cut and paste for the details.

Mark off a 15 minute slot on your calendar for a specific time each day. Then when it’s time, go in and send your one email. If you have any time left over, try sending a second one. Before you know it, you’ll have sent all your emails.

      You can do it!

I have been wanting to loose 30 pounds. I “have been working” on it for
over two years. I have lost about 10 so far, but I can’t seem to make
any head way. I have been making excuses and making the wrong choices
and then complaining when I get the same result. I have made a pledge
to myself that in March I will go the gym every day that I go to work
(my gym is next door). Enough procrastinating. I’m gonna do this.

    • Hey Bee Gee,

Have you heard of Stickk.com? If you’re really serious this is a great way to find that motivation you’ve been lacking. You put in the stakes and assign an accountability partner. If they say you didn’t reach your goal, your money gets sent to your pre-determined hated charity/enemy/etc. If you reach your goal, you don’t get charged. Pretty sweet deal.
